On 15th November, a three-and-a-half-year-old girl was mauled by a stray dog that was living as a pet at a neighbour’s house. The kid was attacked when she was sitting outside her house. The child, identified as Lovely, was playing at the doorstep when the dog suddenly attacked her, leaving her seriously injured. She was rushed to the hospital for treatment.
According to media reports, the victim’s family said that the neighbour is a dog feeder and regularly offers food to the stray dogs in the area, becoming a serious concern and nuisance for the residents. They said that when they complained about the attack, the neighbour and his associates responded with abuses, threats and attempted assault.
Lovely was admitted to a private hospital where she is undergoing treatment. Her parents said that the situation could have been avoided if the neighbour had listened and removed the dog. However, despite repeated objections from the people in the locality, the neighbour had continued not only to feed dogs but to shelter one at their house. A complaint has been filed at the Jogi Nawada outpost in the matter.
