On 2nd March, a dog attacked a 4-year-old child and attempted to drag him towards nearby fields in Phoolkan village of Sirsa district in Haryana. The minor sustained multiple bite injuries before family members and locals managed to rescue him. The injured child was rushed to the Civil Hospital where he received treatment. As per media reports, his condition is stable and he is out of danger.
Child attacked while playing outside house
The family told the media that the victim, identified as Harshit, was playing near the gate of his house with his grandmother. Harshit’s father, Inderpal Kuladia, said the attack happened when the grandmother briefly went inside the house.
Taking advantage of the moment, a dog suddenly lunged at the child and began biting him. The animal first bit Harshit on the hand and then clamped its jaws around the child’s leg.
Locals rush to rescue as dog drags child
The dog then began dragging the child towards nearby agricultural fields, creating panic among the family members who witnessed the horrifying scene. Hearing the commotion, people sitting at a nearby village chaupal rushed to the spot.
After considerable effort, the villagers managed to free the child’s leg from the dog’s jaws and pull him away from the animal.
Harshit sustained several deep bite wounds on different parts of his body, including a serious injury on his wrist.
