Uttar Pradesh: 13-year-old minor sustains bite injuries after pet dogs unleashed on him in Omicron-3 society in Greater Noida, FIR filed against three, one arrested

On 13th March, a 13-year-old boy identified as Dhruvveer was injured after a pet dog was allegedly unleashed on him in Greater Noida’s (Gautam Buddha Nagar) Omicron-3 area. Following the incident, an FIR has been registered on the child’s father Varun Kumar’s complaint under Sections 291, 352, and 351(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at Surajpur police station.

According to the complaint, the incident took place at around 8:30 pm when the victim was playing in the lane in front of Block 7 of Lotus Society in Omicron-3. The complainant stated that the accused, Sachchidanand Nautiyal, his wife Rashmi Nautiyal, and their daughter Meenakshi Nautiyal, residents of the same society, intentionally released their pet dogs by removing the ropes and set them free upon the boy.

He stated that the dogs chased the minor and attacked him, biting him on both legs and leaving him injured and traumatised. The child reportedly raised the alarm and shouted for help. Several residents rushed to the spot to rescue him. Following the commotion, some of the dogs ran back inside the Nautiyal residence.

The injured child was rushed to the hospital for treatment. After the treatment, the child’s father went to the police station with other residents to lodge a complaint. The FIR mentioned that several witnesses were present at the scene. The father further stated that when he and other residents attempted to speak to the accused persons about the incident, they used abusive language and issued death threats before locking the gate.

Sachchidanand was briefly arrested by the police and later released. Police said further legal action in the matter is underway.
