On 22nd December, a 9-year-old girl was seriously injured after being attacked by a stray dog in Kakarawali village under the Pilua police station area of Etah district in Uttar Pradesh. The incident took place at around 8 am when the child was playing outside her house.

According to media reports, the victim has been identified as Suhana. Speaking to the media, locals said the stray dog suddenly attacked her without provocation. She sustained deep bite injuries. Hearing her screams, family members rushed to the spot and rescued her.

Admitted to medical college, treatment underway

The child was immediately taken to the emergency ward of Veerangana Avantibai Medical College in Etah. Doctors admitted her for treatment, and her condition is being closely monitored. Hospital sources said she suffered multiple bite wounds and required urgent medical attention. Doctors administered the anti-rabies vaccine.

Villagers flag repeated dog bite incidents

Speaking to the media, the girl’s father Irfan alleged that stray dogs have become a serious menace in the area. He said that the same dog has bitten around seven to eight children in nearby villages over the past few days, triggering panic among residents.

Villagers said children are increasingly vulnerable due to the unchecked presence of aggressive stray dogs. They have demanded immediate intervention by the district administration to capture the animal and prevent further attacks.

Residents warned that delays in action could lead to more serious incidents, particularly involving children, and urged authorities to take preventive measures without delay.
