On 3 January, an 8-year-old boy was attacked by a pack of stray dogs in the Amberpet area of Hyderabad while he was flying kites along the banks of the Musi River. The incident took place at Annapurna Nagar in the Golnaka division. The attack triggered panic among local residents.

Child suffers serious leg injuries

According to media reports, the victim has been identified as Ritvik. He sustained severe injuries to his left leg and was seen bleeding profusely. Hearing his screams, locals rushed to his rescue and chased away the dogs. The child was rushed to a hospital in Nallakunta for treatment.

Shifted to Osmania General Hospital

Ritvik was initially taken to Fever Hospital for treatment. Due to the seriousness of his injuries, doctors later referred him to Osmania General Hospital for further medical care. His condition and recovery are being closely monitored by doctors.

Corporator slams authorities

Following the incident, the Mansoorabad corporator reached the spot after receiving information about the attack. He expressed strong anger at the civic authorities, stating that repeated stray dog attacks on children across Hyderabad were being ignored. The corporator alleged that the authorities had changed their approach towards street dog attacks, leaving residents, especially children, vulnerable to serious harm.
